Just bought a used 2011 CTS-V Coupe, it came with one working Fob #2. I purchased an additionalnew Fob #1 and had it programed and all features on it work fine EXCEPT the seat and wheel memory when starting the car and the exit memory when opening the door. Did the factory reset as above and still does not work with that fob.
Start the engine, move seat all the way forward and then all the way back. Make sure that the rear seat is in the upright position otherwise the drivers seat may hit it. If it does, this may be the cause of the memory loss. Repeat the cycle a second time and then return the seat to the center position.
The seat is actually working properly. It does move back when you shut the truck off. It will move back into your position when you press the #1 button OR when you use your FOB to unlock the truck, IF the FOB you have is the #1 FOB. This will work whether or not the truck was locked. When the FOBs were programmed the first FOB programmed is the

Here's how to turn the memory seat on: 1) Pull the seat all the way forward. 2) Tilt the seat all the way forward. 3) Tilt the seatback all the way forward. It still amazes me that VW dealers don't know how to do this. Thanks DRbillZ. I now have my memory seats working.
