regards. Marco. Aside from their different zoom ranges, the most conspicuous differences are that the 24-105 has IS and the 24-70 is one stop faster. So as with most such choices, it depends on what your requirements are.

I replaced my broken EF 24-105 mm f/4L IS USM with the new EF 24-105 mm f/4L IS II USM, instead of attempting to repair the old lens. I was in Tokyo anyway, and buying the mark II there cost less than getting the old version at home.

My RF 24-105 is pretty sharp and never used the EF version. My EF 24-105/4 L IS very sharp. And about same size and in fact a little lighter than the RF which was surprising. The EF 24-105 f4 L IS USM 2 weight is 795 gram. The RF 24-105 f4 L IS USM weight is 700 gram.
